We often tell young people to be kind. But kindness requires action, and we don't always show them what that can look like in everyday life.

SHOW UP is an invitation to put those values into practice. Once a day, students, educators, staff, coaches, families, and administrators are invited to look beyond themselves and find one intentional way to lift someone else up—to help another person see their own value, believe they matter, and recognize that they are enough.

You don't have to be the team captain, the top student, the most popular person in the room, or hold a title to make a difference. SHOW UP isn't defined by status, age, achievement, or position. What each of us has to offer is individual, and the way we SHOW UP will be too. Everyone has something to contribute.

The action doesn't need to be seen, announced, or recognized. Some of the most meaningful ways we SHOW UP happen quietly, when there is nothing to earn and nothing expected in return. The value is in what the action gives to someone else, not what it gives back to us.

SHOW UP is not a random act of kindness. It is deliberate action, practiced every day—at school, at home, in athletics, and throughout the larger community. Over time, those choices help create a culture where individuals feel valued, connected, and capable of making a difference in the life of someone else.

When individuals across a school choose to accept that invitation, something larger begins to take shape: a shared commitment that isn't defined by grade level, position, popularity, achievement, or even which school we attend.

The SHOW UP shirt is a visible symbol of that shared commitment. Wearing it says, I've accepted the invitation. It isn't recognition for something we've done; it's a reminder of what we've chosen to do.

​

That meaning extends beyond classrooms and hallways. We may wear different uniforms, compete on opposite sides, or represent different schools, but when the competition ends, we're all on the same team.
